x a dreary day is in store. let's look at live triple doppler radar on this tuesday morning. from front will always eastward to the beltway and from the southwest to northeast. moderate showers just west of fredericksburg. rain off and on all day today. upper 40's to nearly 50 degrees right now. temperatures will climb all-day and all-night, topping out notes in the upper 50s. most of the range should be between 1:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. it will be a wet morning commute. there is no road work. slippery. coming out of the neighborhoods, the roads are wet. on the key bridge in both directions, where traffic slowly

getting through in both directions. on the right side, inbound and outbound, the activity should be wrapping up shortly. back to you. >> thank you. some other news we have been falling, more arrests. it may not be over yet. a political scandal the region has not seen in decades. >> 3 prince george's county police among those arrested monday. they face extortion and drug trafficking charges. >> monday night county executive electrician and baker called a press conference in the wake of a corruption scandal that has rocked prince george's county. >> these are not saturdays. >> high-profile elected officials in trouble.

>> i do not want to speak to that. >> investigators arrested nine additional people if including three police officers. >> these individuals are bad people. >> two of them are accused of being involved in a tobacco and alcohol smuggling ring. another officer faces gun and drug charges. >> these cases have one important feature in common, the alleged that police officers violated the trust of the people of prince george's county. they committed serious violations. >> prosecutors will not go into specifics, but they say both cases are related to friday's arrest of pat johnson and his wife on witness tampering and destruction of evidence. johnson returned to work monday, despite the allegations against jim. >> we are feeling well and we will move forward. >> his successor was quick to

remind residents that he will keep his promises. >> what we are focused on are the needs of the people of prince george's county. it is the beginning of the end for chandra levy murder trial. after three weeks of testimony, jurors will hear closing arguments today. courtney robinson is live in northwest. good morning. >> good morning. we expect to hear closing arguments today. it could be in the hands of the jury afterwards. we don't know how long this will take. the jurors will consider two counts facing ingmar guandique. those two counts of first-degree murder. he initially faced nine charges, but prosecutors dropped seven charges yesterday. the defense rested its case, saying the prosecution had no physical evidence. the defense called a former

cellmates, an admitted going member -- gang member, to counter the star witness who claimed ingmar guandique told him that he attacked chandra levy during that cellmates said that he never ordered ingmar guandique admitted to killing chandra levy. that was from a closed circuit camera from prison. coming up in the 5:00 hour, we will give you a look at evidence that the court has released, including a voicemail message left by former congressman gary condit on chandra levy's voicemail just days after her disappearance. live from northwest, courtney robinson. this morning, authorities are still looking for the mother who left a newborn outside springfield church. the infant girl was found

outside st. raymond's catholic church early sunday morning. the baby will be just fine, but they are concerned about the mother's well-being. to make sure that she -- because she did not have medical assistance when she gave birth. the man charged in the fourth good mass shooting, the trial has come to an end. the attorney called no witnesses. they complained they have not received key government reports about the case. nidal hasan is accused of murders of 13 people and the shootings of 32 orders of durable. american soldier is among the latest casualties in the afghan war. the department of defense says the 28-year-old army specialist died last week when his unit was attacked by an improvised explosive device. he's from frostburg, md.. he leaves behind a wife and two children. we switchgear gears.
